Our application process usually starts early in the year and can take up to 15 weeks to complete. Depending on when you submit your application, the overall process may take longer and in some cases up to six months, as we want to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to apply after finishing school. The process typically includes five key steps designed to give each candidate a fair and thorough assessment.
Once you’ve found a suitable apprenticeship programme, you can apply exclusively online using the “Apply now” button in the respective job description.
If you have your documents ready, the application itself takes just 3 - 5 minutes to complete. Immediately after submitting your application, you’ll receive an automated confirmation email confirming that we’ve received it.
You’ll usually receive initial feedback within two weeks of submitting your application. In some areas, all applications are reviewed together after the submission period has closed – this means the timeline can be slightly longer before you hear back.

After completing each stage successfully, you’ll be invited to the next one.
For some apprenticeship programmes, especially those involving work on turbines or offshore environments, a medical examination is required to ensure you meet the necessary health and fitness standards. If this applies to your chosen programme, you’ll be informed in due course, usually as part of the offer and onboarding phase.

Absolutely! RWE welcomes applicants of all ages, including those who have left university. Please note that all apprenticeship salaries are benchmarked for the programme, so those with more work experience should take this into account when applying.
There will be variations for each role, but typically they’ll include an interview, a presentation exercise, and a group exercise with your fellow applicants. We’ll also provide you with the chance to meet managers to ask questions and assess our suitability for your future career.
Our induction programmes vary depending on the apprenticeship, but one thing is the same: your first day is all about getting started on the right foot. You’ll meet your fellow apprentices and the team who will support you, get all the essential information you need, and begin your journey with RWE full of confidence.
RWE trains apprentices with a view to a long term role with the company. However, any permanent role after the apprenticeship will require the apprentice to apply for an available position towards the end of the course. There are various opportunities within RWE.
