Following recent trespass at one of its operational power stations, RWE Generation UK plc (RWE) has secured an injunction in the High Court of England and Wales in order to protect six of its major gas generating sites:
- Staythorpe,
- Pembroke,
- Didcot B,
- Little Barford,
- Great Yarmouth and
- Kings Lynn power stations.
Gas generation is key in providing security of supply in the UK and the safe and continuing operation of these gas generating sites is therefore paramount. An interim injunction was granted by the High Court on 3 October 2025, upheld on 24 October 2025 and continued until 24 October 2026, subject to further review. On 17 July 2026, RWE applied to extend the injunction for a period of 12 months, from and including 24 October 2026. On 21 October 2026, the Court granted the extension and the injunction therefore continues in force until 24 October 2027. RWE is permitted to apply for a further review hearing to be listed before that date.
The injunction will continue to protect those sites against trespassers as well as ensuring the safety of our operational staff.
