About RWE & our culture

  • Our company culture is defined by a shared mission: driving the energy transition. We foster an inclusive, international environment where collaboration, open communication, and mutual support are valued. At the same time, we’re a performance-driven organisation that encourages everyone to take ownership, and challenge themselves. Everyone can contribute their ideas, feel heard, and be part of something meaningful. At RWE, you have the opportunity to make a real impact and grow both personally and professionally.

  • Our employees enjoy being part of something that matters – shaping the energy transition. They value the variety in their work, whether it’s advancing renewables technologies such as wind, solar, batteries and hydrogen, or ensuring security of energy supply through biomass, hydro and gas. Many are also excited by the opportunities in AI and data science – from projects like our AI Research Laboratory to cutting-edge trading technologies – keeping RWE ahead of the game. What stands out for our people is the positive work environment, the strong sense of teamwork and the balance between impact, innovation and personal growth.

  • Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of how we work. We actively create spaces for dialogue and learning through webinars, podcasts, and events covering topics such as intercultural exchange, microaggressions, disability inclusion, and LGBTQIA+ allyship. With over 20,000 colleagues worldwide from more than 80 nationalities, we make sure everyone feels respected and empowered to contribute.

  • The biggest challenge we face is also our greatest motivation: transforming our entire energy system to become climate-neutral. This means phasing out coal while massively expanding renewables and storage – all within ambitious timelines. Regulatory changes and market demands keep us agile, but we see these as opportunities to innovate and grow.

  • What sets us apart is our combination of global strength and local roots. We are one of the world’s largest energy generators, yet we remain strongly connected to local communities. Our integrated approach – from generation and storage to trading – together with a diverse and inclusive culture, makes RWE unique in the industry.

Application process (in general)

  • Please only use our online application platform for your application, which you can access from every job description by clicking on the "Apply now" button.

  • Yes, you are welcome to apply for multiple positions that match your skills and interests. We encourage you to review each job description carefully and submit a separate application for every role you are interested in. Our recruitment team will review your application for each position individually.

  • Unfortunately, it is not possible to submit a speculative application, as recruitment is managed independently by the various RWE Operating Companies. This means there is no central office that can review speculative applications, forward them to the relevant departments, or ensure a smooth application process. We hope you will nevertheless find what you are looking for on our job board. Thank you for your understanding.

  • For your application, you will need to provide your contact details and upload your CV. A cover letter is not required but is encouraged.

You can upload your documents in various formats; however, we recommend using PDF files whenever possible. Please keep in mind:

    • Hyperlinks, website links (e.g. to a LinkedIn profile), or active content in your CV may cause upload errors. We recommend removing such links or saving the CV as an image file where the text is non-editable.
