Humber Gateway is located 8km off the Holderness, East Yorkshire coast, just north of the mouth of the river Humber. It is capable of generating enough electricity to power up to 199,000 UK homes, more than one and a half times the number of homes in Hull. The operations and maintenance base is in Grimsby.
In 2015 the 219 megawatt wind farm became fully operational with all 73 turbines generating two months ahead of schedule. The wind farm was officially opened by Andrea Leadsom MP, UK Government Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change in September 2015.
