Attractive passive rental income
You can expect to earn around £1,000 per acre/per year, considerably more than typical agricultural margins with no fixed costs.
No capital Investment or risk
There is no cost to you from leasing your land. RWE assumes all responsibility for planning, financing, design, construction, and operation. We’ll always keep you up to date with progress – there’s nothing you must deal with. And because we always finance our own construction work, we don’t depend on the banks, which means leasing your land to us is very low risk.
Reliable partnership
RWE is a model of durability and reliability. We have more than 125 years’ experience in electricity generation and are a global market leader in renewable energy. We build, own, and operate all our solar farms. Which means, we’re in it for the long haul, not to forward sell to an unknown third party. When you partner with RWE we’ll be with you every step of the way, for the lifetime of the project.
Bespoke projects
Every project is different. We design our solar farms with you, your land, and your local community in mind. We carefully consider the unique circumstances of each project in detail, and we are committed to working closely with you, your neighbours, and your local authority throughout the planning process to deliver the best possible projects for each unique circumstance.
Our commitment to net zero and nature recovery
RWE is committed to helping the UK meet its net zero and nature recovery targets. We have committed to climate neutrality across all our operations by 2040, and we are one of the few electricity generators in the world to have had our net-zero targets independently certified by the Science Based Targets Initiative.
In addition to providing you with secure returns, and providing clean renewable energy, solar farms also provide significant benefits for biodiversity. We have committed to delivering a minimum of 50% biodiversity net gain across all our UK solar projects, five times more than the statutory requirement of 10% net gain.
