Perth, Scotland, 28 July 2025

RWE, the UK’s leading power generator, has secured full planning consent for its Enoch Hill 2 Wind Farm development project near New Cumnock, North Ayrshire in Scotland.

The project is located adjacent to its existing Enoch Hill Wind Farm and consists of two wind turbines with a blade tip height of up to 149.9 meters, alongside a 10megawatts (MW) alternating current (AC)(1) battery storage facility.

Victoria Allen, RWE Head of Onshore Renewables Development Scotland, said: "We are pleased to have received full planning consent for our Enoch Hill 2 project. This approval reinforces our strong pipeline of renewable energy projects in Scotland and marks a significant milestone for the Enoch Hill 2 team. The project exemplifies RWE’s commitment to delivering local and national renewable energy goals while enabling material benefits to the local community.”

Battery storage capacities are measured in megawatts (MW) of Alternating Current (AC.)
