“The launch of the Solar Roadmap reinforces the critical role that solar will play in meeting the government’s 2030 Clean Power Mission. Solar remains one of the cheapest and most scalable electricity sources, and we warmly welcome the ambition to get to 45-47GW by 2030, as set out in the Clean Power Action Plan. Utility-scale solar will be central to delivering this target.

“As the Roadmap sets out, local communities must be at the heart of delivering solar projects. Through our industry-leading Solar Developers Charter we’ve formalised our long-standing commitment to engaging carefully with local communities and delivering clear, long-term benefits to them.

“We welcome the Roadmap’s recognition of the barriers to deployment that need to be addressed to meet this goal, particularly grid connections, planning, skills and a clear route to market through CfD reform. The Roadmap sets out an ambitious set of actions to achieve this, and we look forward to working closely with government to achieve this vision.”
