RWE Renewables has submitted the Development Consent Order (DCO) application for the Tween Bridge Solar Farm to the Planning Inspectorate (PINS).

This marks an important milestone in delivering a nationally significant renewable energy project that will support the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future.

We are grateful to everyone who took part in the public consultations, and the feedback we received has been central to shaping the final proposals submitted.

A Consultation Report together with Environmental Statement and all other application documents will be published once the application is accepted for examination.

About Tween Bridge Solar Farm

Tween Bridge Solar Farm is a proposed renewable energy development located east of Thorne, adjacent to RWE’s existing Tween Bridge Wind Farm. With an anticipated generation capacity of up to 600MW, the solar farm could be operational by 2029. The project plans to connect directly to an existing National Grid overhead line, eliminating the need for additional overhead power lines or major network infrastructure.

Once constructed, the land would simultaneously host both solar power generation, battery storage, onshore wind and animal husbandry. It is planned for Tween Bridge Solar Farm to become one of the largest lowland sheep farms in the country and an opportunity has also been identified for a bee farm on the site.

We remain committed to transparency and ongoing dialogue. Updates on key project milestones will continue to be shared on our website, via email and post. If you would like to stay informed or have further questions, you can still contact the Tween Bridge Solar Farm team through the contact details at the bottom of this page.

Further information is available to view online at the project website.
