Project Introduction

RWE is currently exploring the possibility of developing a wind farm on land near our existing Rosehall operational wind farm. The site includes land that is part of Scotland’s national forest estate, managed by Forestry Land Scotland and RWE have been awarded rights to develop the land for a potential wind farm.

Application submitted

We have now submitted our planning application to the Scottish Government. As such, this now started the period of formal consultation. The planning documents are listed on this page under the “Planning Documents” tab. They are also available to view on the Scottish Government website at www.energyconsents.scot under application reference ECU00005210. Please send any representations directly to the Scottish Government and should be received no later than 7th April 2026, although Ministers may still consider representation received after this time.

RWE is committed to supporting the communities that neighbour our wind farms.  In 2022 alone community funds from wind farms operated by RWE in Scotland invested around £780,000 into local projects.
