RWE is proposing to build a wind farm north-east of Merthyr Tydfil and north-west of the small town of Rhymney.
The site was chosen after initial studies showed the area’s excellent wind resources and good connections to the national electricity network.
The plans have now been accepted for consideration by Planning and Environment Decisions Wales (PEDW).
