RWE originally received planning consent from East Ayrshire Council and Dumfries and Galloway Council in February and June 2018 respectively for the construction of nine turbines – Lorg Wind Farm. The site is located between Carsphairn (approx. 11km to the south west) and Sanquhar (approx. 12.3km to the North East) and New Cumnock is approx. 10km north. 

Latest Update

RWE has now submitted Additional Information (known as an FEI Report) to Scottish Ministers which includes information relating to the reduction in turbines and in response to consultee comments. RWE has also requested a direction under Section 57(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 that planning permission for the development be deemed to be granted.

All previous representations received by Scottish Ministers in relation to the application remain valid. All representations should be received not later than 31st August 2024, although Ministers may consider representations received after this date.

 

Application Submitted

We have now submitted our Section 36 application to the Scottish Government. As such, this now starts the period of formal consultation. The planning documents are listed on this page under the “Planning Documents” drop down tab. They are also available to view on the Scottish Government website at www.energyconsents.scot under application reference ECU00003283. Please send any representations directly to the Scottish Government and should be received no later than Friday 17th March 2023 although Ministers may still consider representations received after this time.
